Read the concrete and masonry units in the text book(s) you are using.
Go to a local builders supply and get samples of concrete materials,
foundation bolts, and reinforcing materials.
Spend a day with a concrete contractor and see how concrete is placed and
finished.
Check with your maintenance or grounds
departments to �borrow� larger finishing tools to use as visuals.
Use your shop and surrounding buildings and grounds to view different
applications of concrete.
Contact local concrete suppliers. They may be able to drop a left
over yard or two for free for a school project. Be sure and have the
forms ready!
Be sure you are comfortable performing any of the skills you will be
demonstrating to your class.
