Methods:
- Read the Woodworking/Construction units in the text book(s) you are using.
- Go to a local lumber yard and gather a selection of wood samples (bother
lumber and manufactured products) to use as props while teaching this unit.
Get a selection of common fasteners used for woodworking.
- Collect sample projects to use as examples.
- Be sure you are comfortable performing any of the skills you will be
demonstrating to your class. IMPORTANT: Many woodworking power
tools can be dangerous if not properly setup and used.
- Use your shop, surrounding buildings, and wood products to view different
aspects of woodworking.
Standards:
