UNIT GOAL:  Students will identify the important principles of 
            photosynthesis and respiration.

UNIT OBJECTIVES:  Upon completion of this unit, the students will be able 
                  to:

1.  Compare and contrast the processes of photosynthesis and respiration.

2.  Write the balanced formulas for both photosynthesis and respiration.

3.  Discuss how energy is acquired through photosynthesis and released 
    through respiration.

4.  List the requirements for photosynthesis and explain what function each 
    performs (i.e., light, heat, C02, water, and chlorophyll).

5.  List the food products of photosynthesis (i.e., starch, carbohydrates,
    sugars, fats).

6.  Explain the role of the chlorophyll molecule in photosynthesis.
