When gluing, apply glue to both the fitting and the pipe, slide the two pieces together and rotate 1/4 turn for good adhesion. Glue is classified by set time and thickness. Small pipe can use light quick setting glue. Larger pipe should use slow setting heavy glue. Some glue is designed to be used on wet pipe.
